SHANGHAI (AP) Andy Murray cruised into the semifinals at the Shanghai Masters with a 6-2, 6-2 win over error-prone Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

The fourth-seeded Scot, seeking his second title of the year, broke his French opponent four times and only dropped eight service points in the match.

Tsonga, seeded 12th, finished with 21 unforced errors and five double-faults. He's now lost seven of his past eight matches against top 10-ranked players.

Murray will face either Jurgen Melzer of Austria or Juan Monaco of Argentina in the semifinals. Melzer, the 13th seed, eliminated top-ranked Rafael Nadal on Thursday.

Novak Djokovic of Serbia and Swiss Roger Federer play their quarterfinal matches later Friday.
