Andy Murray offers his condolences to those in Newtown, Conn. after the tragic shooting last Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

“My heart goes out to all those poor children, their families and the community in Newtown in Connecticut, so, so sad,” Murray posted on Facebook.
Murray was an eight-year-old in 1996 when a gunman opened fire at a primary school he was attending in Dunblane, Scotland. The gunman targeted the five- and six-year-old children, killing 16 students and their teacher. Murray and his older brother Jamie survived by hiding under a desk.
Friday’s shooting left 20 schoolchildren and six teachers and administrators dead. The children were between six and seven years old.
