Andy Murray reacts to the resignation of John Lloyd as British Davis Cup captain, saying, "It’s a shame because obviously the results haven’t been going well so it’s easy to kind of blame John in a way.
"I really enjoyed the ties, I really enjoyed the weeks in the lead up – guys know him well, he’s a nice guy, good fun, likes his football, likes being around the guys, tells a great story."
Britain lost five consecutive ties with John Lloyd at the helm, including the last one to Lithuania. American Paul Annacone, who is the LTA head coach of men’s tennis, is also out as Davis Cup coach.
Greg Rusedski and Murray’s former junior coach, Leon Smith, are potential candidates for the role. Junior Davis Cup captain Colin Beecher has also been mentioned as a possible replacement.
