Andy Murray says he was impressed by 16-year-old Borna Coric after scoring a 6-3, 6-0, 6-3 Davis Cup victory over the reigning U.S. Open boys' champion in the opening match of Great Britain's Davis Cup tie against host Croatia on Friday.
Murray told *Davis Cup.com* he figured he was physically stronger than the teenager so he made sure to extend rallies in the first set to wear him out.
"He fought for every point,” Murray said. “He was very solid. He did everything well. He didn’t have one major weapon, but he definitely understood how to play the game, he did all the basics well, which is a good sign for youngster. When he gets physically stronger he’ll develop more weapons and that’s when he’ll play on the tour.”
