Watch the throne, Rafa. Or, you know, at least watch the timepiece adorning your wrist.
Roger Federer beat longtime rival Rafael Nadal in three sets over two hours on Sunday to win the ATP tournament in his hometown of Basel, Switzerland. Fed is now 11-23 for his career against his chief competitor from the mid-2000s to present, obviously with significant ground to make up if he hopes to draw even close before their playing days are done.
To his credit, Nadal himself has poured on the vigor and killer instinct late this season that he lacked early on. At the same time, he seemed to find a lot more interest in his expensive wristwatch than in yet another Federer trophy acceptance speech.
