Rafael Nadal may only play doubles at the Olympics, according to Spanish reports.
The Spaniard, who has been sidelined with a wrist injury, does not know if he will participate in singles, according to Ser Mallorca, but has confirmed that he will attempt to play doubles.
Nadal was scheduled to train with Andy Murray in Mallorca this week, but he could not take the court against the world No. 2 until Wednesday, indicating that his wrist is progressing slower than anticipated.
Nadal, who has not played since withdrawing from the French Open because of the injury, also withdrew from the Masters event in Toronto, saying he had only begun practicing a week before the tournament.
Nadal is still No. 4 in the rankings.
