BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) Argentine tennis player David Nalbandian is expected to be out for two months because of surgery on his left leg and groin.

Nalbandian aggravated a groin strain and tore a muscle in his lower leg while playing a Davis Cup singles match against Adrian Ungur of Romania last week.

Spokesman Bernardo Ballero says Nalbandian was to have surgery Thursday at a clinic in Buenos Aires.

Ballero says Nalbandian should be ready to play the French Open, which begins May 17.

Nalbandian, a Wimbledon finalist in 2002, has been bothered by injuries throughout his career. He had hip surgery in 2009 and abdominal injury last year.
