Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic saved a match point and upset Bob and Mike Bryan 6-3, 3-6, [12-10] to reach the final stage at the ATP World Tour Finals.
Nestor saved a match point with a strong serve at 9-10, and Zimonjic hit a backhand winner to clinch the victory. It was the first time that the Canadian and Serbian duo had beaten the Americans since 2009, in Basel.
Nestor and Zimonjic, who will end their partnership after this tournament, lost to the Bryans three times this season.
“We've had a lot of great battles over the years,” said Nestor. "We did a lot of good things. But basically we're playing with good energy."
