The seeding formula used by Wimbledon, a combination of a player's ranking and grasscourt results, has promoted world No. 2 Roger Federer to the top seeded position ahead of world No. 1 Rafael Nadal.
Other upward movers include Andy Roddick (from 7 to 5), Juan Carlos Ferrer (17 to 14), Lleyton Hewitt (26 to 15), Sam Querrey (21 to 18), Radek Stepanek (25 to 22) and Ivo Karlovic (33 to 25).
The women's seeds are unchanged from the rankings. Serena Williams and Venus Williams, last year's finalists, are first and second seeds. With Elena Dementieva's withdrawal, Kim Clijsters moves up to No. 8 and Maria Sharapova to No. 16. Justine Henin remains outside the Top 16 at No. 17.
