The Australian Open set a Grand Slam single-day attendance record on Wednesday, with 66,154 people coming through the gates.

But 45 of those spectators found themselves leaving early, ejected by police for disruptive behaviour. A total of about 70 people have been kicked out during the first three days of the event, part of a tournament crackdown aimed at preventing the kind of violent clashes that have broken out on the grounds during the past three years.
