The two sets Serena Williams played in her Roland Garros opener were the definition of night and day. After a 72-minute opening set, Serena Williams stepped on the gas to deflate Kristie Ahn in the second, needing 29 additional minutes to complete a 7-6 (2), 6-0 victory. With the win, Serena has now won 75 of 76 matches in the opening round of her Grand Slam appearances.
A second-round clash with Tsvetana Pironkova, who pushed Serena to three sets in the US Open quarterfinals, should be an interesting test for the 23-time major champ. Serena is 5-0 in her head-to-head series with the Bulgarian.
