The eighth-ranked Pepperdine University men’s tennis team has been banned from competing in the post season because it had not properly reported to the NCAA how financial aid was awarded to some athletes, the Los Angeles Times reports. The school called it an "administrative error that was completely inadvertent" and decided itself to sanction the team. A longtime tennis powerhouse, Pepperdine last won the collegiate title in 2006. The school also imposed postseason bans on its baseball and men's volleyball teams.—Matthew Cronin
