Nadia Petrova has defeated Venus Williams 6-4, 6-3 in the fourth round of the French Open. It was the Russian's first career win against Venus and her second win over a Williams sister this month -- she also defeated Serena in the third round of Madrid less than three weeks ago.

"I feel like I had a day where I want to hit the ball crosscourt and it went down the line," said Venus Williams. "She served well. She didn't really make a lot of errors today."

"Special for me is that I was mentally focused and I kept my nerves calm," said Petrova. "Besides that, you know, I played consistent, solid tennis today."
