Novak Djokovic had to stare into the sun to serve.

He didn’t like that.

Djokovic on the move. I wonder whether stayed upright through this entire point. It wasn’t easy for him or his opponent, Grigor Dimitrov, on Friday.

Dimitrov played with leaping, sliding, and often crashing abandon in his first Grand Slam semifinal.

Maria Sharapova (in sunglasses) and Dimitrov’s mother (with thumbs way up) showed their approval.

Wonder what Novak found in his bag.

Djokovic and the baseline didn’t get along all match.

Dimitrov hit 48 winners, but couldn’t come up with one on any of three set points in the fourth-set tiebreaker.

Bear meets Rocket: It was a banner day in the Royal Box, with Jack Nicklaus, Rod Laver, Jude Law, and Bradley Cooper (not pictured) in attendance.

Milos Raonic said he wouldn’t worry about who was on the other side of the net in his semi, but he seemed to have a pretty good idea.

Raonic was broken in the first game and never made it a match, but the 23-year-old reached his first Grand Slam semifinal.

Roger Federer is into a record ninth Wimbledon final, and 25th Grand Slam final.

Federer will face his rival Djokovic; the two have played in just one Grand Slam final, the 2007 U.S. Open. They’ve come a long way to meet in another.

The Royal Box saw fit to give it all a round of applause.

As for the side courts, the rest and recovery process has begun for the grass.

The light at the end of the tunnel: Court 1.

The singles draws have been filled out, and only two matches are left to be played.
