Sabine Lisicki, who opened the women’s draw on Centre Court, couldn’t hide how happy she was to be back in her favorite place, and winning again.

It was wall-to-wall humanity out on the field courts on Tuesday. This was the last chance to see singles matches there until next year.

Court 18 is known as a theater of the absurd, including Isner-Mahut in 2010, and Fabio Fognini and Gael Monfils so far this week. There was a crowd in place early to see what the court would show us next.
