The WTA in Ponte Vedra Beach will not be held from next year onwards, deciding to give up its sanction when the WTA proposed holding it during February or the summer hardcourt season instead of its present April date.

The tournament was in its second year at Ponte Vedra Beach, having previously been held at Amelia Island. Its disappearance means there is now only one green clay event on the WTA circuit -- the Premier event in Charleston.
