Professional Tennis Registry (PTR), the largest global organization of tennis instructors and coaches, had a record-setting year in 2014, reaching the 15,000 member mark and fanning out to 125 different countries.

In just three short years, PTR expanded from one 10-hour certification workshop to 1,000 hours, offering unprecedented access to coaching knowledge and upgraded credentials.  By recalibrating their education pathways to reflect age and goals, PTR’s new program allows members specialized certification.

Headquartered on Hilton Head Island since its inception in 1976, PTR has made an impact on a worldwide scale. The PTR International Tennis Symposium draws hundreds of coaches from more than 50 countries for a week of education and networking on Hilton Head Island.

PTR membership has been made affordable through programs like ACE, which is committed to increasing minority participation and certification, PTR on Campus, which provides affordable certification for full-time students, and the new Junior Apprentice, which is free for 14- and 15-year-olds who help PTR professionals conduct 10-and-Under Tennis programs.

PTR is a not-for-profit organization that was founded by Dennis Van der Meer in 1976. With almost 30 years experience as CEO, Dan Santorum and his staff have been the leading force in the growth and expansion of PTR across the globe.
