Thinking about heading to Flushing Meadows for this year’s U.S. Open? Well you better hurry and get your tickets before it’s too late. Tickets went on sale on June 7, but they are still available and can be purchased at usopen.org. Tickets can also be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at (866) OPEN-TIX or visiting the box office at the USTA’s National Tennis Center. There are varying ticket options for the year’s final Grand Slam. Fans have the choice of buying individual tickets, a mini-plan, a supreme package, a group package and a luxury package. Full series tickets are already sold out.
If you don’t want to break the bank but still want to feel the excitement of the U.S. Open, a grounds pass may be just what you’re looking for. Grounds admission tickets are relatively cheap and they give you access throughout much of the tennis center, including the field courts, the Grandstand and portions of Louis Armstrong Stadium. Unfortunately, grounds passes are only available for the first eight days of the tournament and do not permit entry into Arthur Ashe Stadium.
For a no-cost option, check out some of the free events leading up to the U.S. Open. At the U.S. Open qualifying tournament, held on the field courts from Aug. 24–27, you can watch pro tennis for free. For the little ones, there’s Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day on Saturday, Aug. 28. The event will feature games, attractions and live performances headlined by pop acts The Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato. The following day, fans will also have the opportunity to attend Practice Day and watch their favorite players prepare for the tournament.
Once the first round gets underway, matches will take place during the day (usually beginning at 11 A.M.), and on the majority of days, at night (usually starting at 7 P.M.). And FYI, while you plan what tickets you want to buy, night sessions tend to be cheaper than day sessions.
