Putting Fed Cup behind her, Pliskova adds doubles to her Doha workload

DOHA—While the Fed Cup quarterfinal was disappointing, Karolina Pliskova hasn't had much time to dwell on it. The Czech Republic lost 3-2 on Sunday to Romania—aided in part by Pliskova's three-set loss to Simona Halep—and she was in Doha by Monday morning.

The world No. 5 is looking forward to having some fun this week, despite the mental and physical exhaustion, by teaming up with her sister, Kristyna, in the doubles draw. The fun may be short lived as the twins needed a wildcard to get in and drew the top seeds, Nicole Melichar and Kveta Peschke.

Kristyna lost in qualifying, while 2017 Doha champion Karolina is the No. 2 seed.
