The new ATP and WTA rankings have everything: breakthroughs, new career-highs and even a few longevity milestones.

Coco Gauff celebrates one of those milestones, kicking off her 50th consecutive week in the WTA Top 10 today.

The American teenager first broke into the elite on September 12th, 2022, right after the US Open last year, and she’s been in there ever since. A former No. 4, she rises from No. 7 to No. 6 today after winning the biggest title of her career at the WTA 1000 in Cincinnati.

Maria Sakkari also hits a major milestone—her 100th straight week in the Top 10. The Greek made her debut in the elite on September 27th, 2021, becoming the first Greek player ever to break into the Top 10 of the WTA rankings, and she hasn’t left since. She’s been ranked as high as No. 3 in the world, and is currently at No. 8.

Sakkari actually has the second-longest active streak in the WTA Top 10 right now, after current No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka.

CURRENT ACTIVE STREAKS IN TOP 10 OF WTA RANKINGS:
~ 145 weeks: No. 2 Sabalenka [since November 16th, 2020]

~ 6 weeks: No. 9 Vondrousova [since July 17th, 2023]

Caroline Garcia is also spending her 50th straight week in the Top 10, but it’s not her first stint in the elite—she first broke into it in 2017.

Gauff had just won her first WTA 500 title a few weeks ago in Washington D.C. and now she's already captured her first WTA 1000 title in Cincinnati.

The biggest breakthrough of the week goes to Karolina Muchova, who soars from No. 17 to No. 10—her Top 10 debut—after reaching the final of Cincinnati. The Czech set her previous career-high of No. 16 after reaching the Roland Garros final this year, but now shatters that after reaching her second-biggest final at the WTA 1000.

There are two Top 50 debuts on the ATP rankings, too, and both by Australians who just reached the first Masters 1000 quarterfinals of their careers in Cincinnati. Alexei Popyrin rises from No. 58 to No. 40, soaring past his previous high of No. 56, and Max Purcell goes from No. 70 to No. 47, jumping past his previous best of No. 62.

And last but certainly not least is a brand new career-high for Holger Rune, who just broke into the Top 5 for the first time at No. 5 a week ago—this week the 20-year-old Dane rises one more spot to a new career-high of No. 4, just in time for the seeds at the US Open, where he will be a Top 4 seed at a major for the first time.
