On Sunday, Stefanos Tsitsipas made a winning start to his 2023 Roland Garros campaign, fighting off four set points in the fourth set tie-break to close out Jiri Vesely, 7-5, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (7). It was the 50th Grand Slam win of his career.

And the milestones keep coming for the Greek: today he kicks off his 200th consecutive week in the Top 10, a streak that began when he broke into the elite for the first time on March 4, 2019. It’s the second-longest active streak in the ATP Top 10, after Novak Djokovic, who’s been in there for the last 233 weeks.

Even more impressive from Tsitsipas is that more than half of his 200 consecutive weeks in the Top 10—114 of them to be exact, including this week—have been spent in the Top 5.

None of the above totals include the 22 weeks the ATP rankings were frozen in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tsitsipas is one of four men who can leave Roland Garros as No. 1 this year, alongside Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev and Novak Djokovic.

Meanwhile, Katerina Siniakova—who will play her first-round match in Paris on Monday—also hits a major milestone this week: her 100th career week at No. 1 on the WTA doubles rankings.

She spent her first 33 weeks at the top spot from October 22, 2018 to June 9, 2019, then another 29 weeks from November 15, 2021 to June 5, 2022. Her current stint, which began on September 12, 2022, is now in its 38th week.

The Czech is the eighth woman to reach this milestone:

Last but not least, a few players make major jumps on the rankings after winning titles in the last week of lead-up events to Roland Garros:

  • Chile’s Nicolas Jarry rises from No. 54 to No. 35 after winning Geneva, surpassing his previous career-high of No. 38.
  • French teenager Arthur Fils enters the Top 100 for the first time in his career, soaring from No. 112 to No. 63 after winning the first ATP title of his career on home soil in Lyon.
  • And the biggest move of the week goes to Elina Svitolina, who—in just her fourth WTA tournament back as a mom—went all the way to the title in Strasbourg. As a result, she jumps 316 spots up the WTA rankings from No. 508 all the way to No. 192.

Svitolina holds the record for highest-ranked Ukrainian in WTA rankings history, going as high as No. 3 in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
