With his title run in Bangkok, Canada’s Milos Raonic pulls to within 390 points of Richard Gasquet in the Emirates ATP Race to the finals in London. Gasquet, who fell to Raonic in the Bangkok semifinals, is in ninth place in the race to qualify for the the eight-man, year-end event, but No. 3 Andy Murray is doubtful to play as he is recovering from back surgery.

Raonic is only 180 points behind Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who is 10th place in the race.

"It would mean a lot, it was a goal," Raonic told reporters of his aim to qualify for London. "After [the] clay and grass [seasons], it seemed very distant.... I've put a lot of good results together."

The Canadian is the highest-ranked player under the age of 23 in the Top 50. Tsonga and Raonic are both scheduled to play an ATP 500 level tournament in Tokyo next week, while Gasquet heads to the 500 level event in Beijing, where both No. 1 Novak Djokovic and No. 2 Rafael Nadal are entered.

"I think I'm playing great tennis, I'm serving really well, I'm doing a lot of good things,” Raonic said. "If I keep that up I think I'll have opportunities and will put myself in a good position, no matter who [I play].”
