USA Today reports that Wimbledon CEO Ian Ritchie has dropped out of the running for the ATP CEO job. The Times of London confirmed that information. USA Today also reports that there is infighting on the ATP board between the player and tournament director representatives, which has prevented the tour from selecting someone to replace outgoing CEO Adam Helfant, who is leaving at the end of this year. While ATP staffer Kate Gordon told the newspaper that that the aim is to fill Helfant’s position at the end of this year, it is already late in the process and if the new CEO comes from outside of the sport, he will receive little to no on-the-job training.

Two current ATP officials, Brad Drewett and Mark Young, are considered candidates for the spot, and USA Today reports that 1996 Wimbledon champion Richard Krajieck is also in the running. Krajicek runs the tour event in Rotterdam.
