Just a few months after retiring, Amelie Mauresmo is dreaming about having a TV show, thinking about becoming a tournament director and preparing to run a marathon.

In an inteview with France's Sportweek, Mauresmo said she has settled into retirement and felt no pangs watching on TV as her former colleagues battled it out in Melbourne.

"I told friends that when the Australian Open was coming, I could be a little pinched. But not at all. I know all too well the effort it takes," said the former No. 1, though being in Europe in January was an unusual experience for her. "Having been used to spending part of the winter in the sun playing sport, I felt that."

She has not yet taken on any post-tennis obligations, but is exploring plenty of options.

"I wanted to avoid the constraints I've known playing tennis," said Mauresmo. "I'm taking the time to rest, to live.

"I'm already planning into the future because I don't want to do nothing for a long time, but I want to reflect properly and fix the stages for getting there like I did with tennis."

Mauresmo's television ambitions go beyond the commentary box -- she would like to host an interview show if the opportunity comes along. And being a tournament director is "for sure" on the list of plans.

"But I don't want to be the figurehead they put in front of the press conference," she said. "In fact, whatever I do, I want to invest myself and add value."

The former Australian Open and Wimbledon champion has already signed up for the New York marathon and enlisted her former fitness trainer to help her prepare.

But there's one thing she's not considering -- coaching. "No. Once in a while, I could give my services but I cannot go back on the circuit to travel the whole year."
