Robin Soderling's baby love

Back in May of this year, when the French Open was upon us and a two-time former Roland Garros finalist was missing in action, your Spin keeper wrote an ode to Robin Soderling. The Swede himself chimed in with appreciation and announced at the same time that then-fiancee Jenni Mostrom was pregnant with the couple's first child.

Today, Soderling tweeted a photo of that spawn (at right), a beautiful baby girl. Mostrom tweeted previously that the family was home from the hospital on Oct. 15 after the baby's arrival on Oct. 12. She had been expected in late September. The Spin sends congratulations to Soderling and his brood, and is glad that all are feeling fine. Happy for their baby joy, although probably not quite as happy as this character.

All best to the Soderling family moving forward, and here's to seeing Robin himself on the professional tennis court again in 2013. He hasn't played since July 2011 due to mononucleosis and its complications, and yet, with hope, he will return to the sport. This is what he does best, all paternal responsibilities aside, as evidenced in his French Open triumph, the sole one to date, over Rafael Nadal, the greatest clay-courter ever.
