Britain’s Laura Robson is unsure why she has played so well recently in China. The 18-year-old recently became the first British woman to reach a WTA final since 1990 in Guangzhou, and has qualified and won her first-round match this week in Beijing. She should crack at least the Top 55 next week.

“I don't know what it is,” No. 60 Robson told AFP. I don't think it’s China because I haven’t really left the hotel in Guangzhou or here (Beijing) yet apart from to go to Starbucks. I think the courts suit me here because they are usually quite fast…After this week I should be pretty close [to the Top 50]. It’s definitely a target—but it's not a like a goal, I haven’t spoken to my coach about it.”
