Roddick beats Monfils to reach Qatar Open final

DOHA, Qatar(AP) Andy Roddick reached the final of the Qatar Open by defeating Gael Monfils 7-6 (1), 3-6, 6-3 on Friday.

After slumping in the second set, Roddick broke his French opponent twice in the third.

He will play the winner of the second semifinal between second-ranked Roger Federer and No. 4 Andy Murray of Britain.
