Andy Roddick made his 2012 clay-court debut in Dusseldorf, Germany, and it was short lived. The ATP World Tour's YouTube channel has footage after the 0:40 mark here of his racquet smash, and then again in slow motion:

Fret not: He hasn't played since Miami in March, but Raggedy Andy showed that he's still himself.

Roddick lost 6-2, 6-2 to Carlos Berlocq. The scary thing about that clip is his spill before the racquet murder. Nasty stuff for one who hasn't seen match play on the dirt. Roddick's best French Open finish was reaching the fourth round three years ago, and he surely has realistic expectations this year at the sole Slam where he hasn't reached at least the semis.

Kudos to [Tennis-X for the find, and for referring to Roddick's compatriot as "future American alpha dog Ryan Harrison."]
