Russian-born Anastasia Rodionova will make her Fed Cup debut for Australia in April’s World Group playoff against Ukraine.
Rodionova, currently ranked No. 93, was granted Australian citizenship in December last year. Aussie captain David Taylor said she would join Samantha Stosur, Alicia Molik and Rennae Stubbs for the clay court tie in Kharkiv, April 24-25.
"She is a real fighter on court and will make the most of every opportunity," Taylor said.
The Ukrainian team will likely be lead by sisters Alona and Kateryna Bondarenko.—M.C.
