Twenty-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer practiced for the first time in four years at Roland Garros Tuesday, as the Swiss looks to get fit in time for the French Open. The 2009 winner pulled out of Rome last week prior to his quarterfinal match with Stefanos Tsitispas due to a leg injury.

The 37-year-old appeared to move without any red flags during his hit with Diego Schwartzman on the newly renovated Court Philippe-Chatrier. Federer returned two weeks ago to begin his first European clay season in four years in Madrid. He lost in the quarterfinals to Dominic Thiem after holding two match points over the Austrian.

In addition to his triumph a decade earlier, Federer is a four-time finalist at the Paris major. He will be seeded third behind chief rivals Novak Djokovic, the 2016 titlist–and 11-time champion Rafael Nadal.
