Roger Federer, Milos Raonic set for Centre Court rematch at Wimbledon

Roger Federer and Milos Raonic are in very different positions as they meet at the All England Club for a second straight year.

In 2016, Raonic won in five sets against Federer, who was still having problems following knee surgery and took a fall on court during the match.

"[I]t was too much for the body. Milos was better," recalled Federer following his fourth-round win at Wimbledon.

Now they meet again in the quarterfinals, and it is Raonic who is coming off injury problems while Federer has won four titles in six events played this season.

"It's far removed from the last time we played. Things are a little bit different, sort of, in terms of momentum for both of us," said Raonic. "Roger's been the best player I think this year, hands down, when he's been on court.

"But it's not about [the season]. I've just got to try to find a way to try to be better on that day."

Federer, who led by a break in the fourth set in the 2016 semifinal, does not want to have a letdown this time.

"I got to bring the intensity, the focus that I've shown throughout this tournament,” said Federer. “The mentality on the serve, first and second serve. Very few wrong decision[s]. Understanding what to do at what stage.Then on the return, keep going for it, keep staying aggressive. Positive attitude."

Federer leads 9-3 in career meetings, but Raonic has won their previous two encounters.
