Francesca Schiavone makes her debut in the Top 10 this week thanks to her surprise title run at the French Open, coming in at No. 6. She is joined fellow Italian Flavia Pennetta, who moved up to No. 10 after reaching the second week of the Grand Slam event.

The rest of the Top 10 is unchanged, but there are some substantial shifts further down. Nadia Petrova climbed seven spots to No. 13 thanks to her quarterfinal showing and Justine Henin is up to No. 18.

The biggest leap into the Top 100 belonged to South African Chanelle Scheepers, who went up 47 places from No. 131 to No. 84 after qualifying for the French and reaching the fourth round. Only one of the wins was over a player ranked in the Top 95 -- an ill Gisela Dulko in the second round.

Aussies Anastasia Rodionova and Jarmila Groth both reached the third round, where they faced each other. Rodionova is up 16 spots to No. 76 while the winner of the match, Groth, is up 29 spots to No. 88.

Players who failed to defend strong performances the year before tumbled. Defending champ Svetlana Kuznetsova dropped from No. 6 to No. 19 and last year's finalist, Dinara Safina, has fallen to No. 20 after being No. 1 a year ago.

The Williams sisters have reached the top spot in doubles for the first time, making them the No. 1-ranked doubles team as well as the first- and second-highest ranked singles players. Serena is currently No. 1 in singles while Venus is No. 2.
