Roger Federer, take notes. Fed is arguably the greatest of all time in the men's game, perhaps the patron saint of touch in tennis, but John Isner one-upped him in their fourth-round match Monday evening. At least on this point.

Stabbing at a feathery-yet-forceful Federer backhand drive, Isner chopped the ball up in the air and across the net for a bounce before it boomeranged back onto his own side of the court due to its fiendish spin. Seeing is believing:

Despite this inadvertent trick shot, Isner dropped the first set in a tiebreak to Federer, 7-6 (5)—and would go on to lose in straights, despite dropping serve just once.
