Maria Sharapova is through to the finals of Birmingham after ending Alison Riske's run 6-2, 4-6, 6-1. The former Wimbledon champ reports she is feeling confident in her body and game.
"I feel so much better than last year and am working on moving forward, being aggressive and finishing off points," said Sharapova earlier in the week. "Last year was only my third tournament back [after shoulder srugery] and I was still trying to get matches and find my range but I definitely feel in a much better situation now.
"Last year I wasn't quite sure how my arm was going on any single given day so I was always on the watch out for that. Now I just feel a lot better."
