We’ve been getting great feedback on TENNIS Magazine’s May 40th Anniversary special issue. We’ve also got various message boards (not to mention our own e-mail queues) buzzing.
Over at the Tennis Warehouse boards, Jon Wertheim’s back-pager, “TENNIS at 80,” made an impression. And a poster who calls himself “The Ace 21” had this to say:
That’s a great idea, because we’ve gotten some interesting feedback on that subject and it could be interesting to spread the knowledge. Just go to “Hot Topics” at TENNIS’ message boards or join the train at TW, where poster “Kaptain Karl” had some kind words for TENNIS and poster “6-0,6-0” (wonder if that’s Lindsay Davenport) says he (or she) couldn’t think of a thing that was missing from the coverage.
Others weren’t as sure. For example, Ann Arbor reader James C. Hamilton wrote in an e-mail:
That’s pretty persuasive to me; in fact, I had lobbied for getting Tracy in there (aren’t I swell?).
There were some other (arguably) notable omissions. Reader Patrick Formanes wrote:
And Seattle reader Fred Crobit weighed in with this:
So here are again, waxing nostalgic about wooden racquets. Don’t you love this game?
