TASHKENT, Uzbekistan(AP) Top-seeded Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan defeated Maria Elena Camerin of Italy 6-1, 6-1 Tuesday to reach the second round of the Tashkent Open.

Shvedova, who upset the fifth-ranked Jelena Jankovic of Serbia in the second round of the U.S. Open for her first career win over a top-10 player, broke serve five times in the match.

Sixth-seeded Monica Niculescu of Romania and No. 7 Patricia Mayr of Austria also advanced. Niculescu defeated Corinna Dentoni of Italy 6-3, 6-0, and Mayr topped Ekaterina Dzehalevich of Belarus 7-5, 6-4.

However, third-seeded Ioana Raluca Olaru was upset by Ekaterina Bychkova of Russia 7-5, 7-5. The 120th-ranked Bychkova saved six of seven break points and capitalized on both of her opportunities, breaking in the 11th game of each set.

Nigina Abduraimova, a 15-year-old Uzbek wild card, won her first WTA Tour match by beating Ukrainian qualifier Lesya Tsurenko 6-3, 6-2.
