Saturday's Winter Whites Gala in London saw stars of sport and screen come out for an exhibition match and to celebrate the spirit of giving, with the holidays are upon us. Tim Henman and Goran Ivanisevic played in front of the likes of Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, actors Jude Law and Sadie Frost, and an assortment of past and present tennis pros including John McEnroe, Bjorn Borg, Novak Djokovic, Heather Watson, Boris Becker, Mats Wilander, and more. Most all walked the event's red carpet, where Djokovic and girlfriend Jelena Ristic looked particularly smashing.
That's not all that Djokovic won: Prince William presented to him the (deep breath) Centrepoint Premier Award for Contribution to the Lives of Youth Accross the World, this due to the world No. 1's work with his Novak Djokovic Foundation, which seeks to aid children in "fulfilling their dreams." Djokovic also posted to his Instagram account a photo of himself with most of the tennis-centric celebrities on hand. (Picture at right from Djokovic's official Instagram account.)
Still, Becker took the non-award for funniest photo from the night, a shot of himself, naturally, with Borg. Great to see so many icons and up-and-comers—recall that Watson this year became the first Brit to win a WTA title since 1988—in one place, and to fete one of their own for giving something back, for all that he (and they, and all of us) have received.
