It’s been a trying 16 months for Borna Coric to say the least, being sidelined for 12 months between last March and this March with a shoulder injury—and having surgery last May.
But now, the biggest breakthrough of his comeback to date: Coric is now through to the quarterfinals of the ATP 500 clay-court event in Hamburg, his first time reaching the quarterfinals or better at an ATP event since the first week of March 2021, right before his year-long lay-off, when he reached the semifinals of the ATP 500 indoor event in Rotterdam.
It’s the 35th ATP quarterfinal of Coric’s career, and 19th at the ATP 500 level or higher.
