On April 4th, after a six-week stretch that saw her win three straight WTA 1000-level tournaments at Doha, Indian Wells and Miami, Iga Swiatek made an historic ascent to No. 1 on the WTA rankings, becoming the first player from Poland AND the first player born in the 2000s to reach No. 1 in either ATP or WTA rankings history.

And today, 11 days later, she played her first match as No. 1—and crushed it.

Playing her first match of Poland’s Billie Jean King Cup tie against Romania, Swiatek needed just 55 minutes for a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Mihaela Buzarnescu, hitting 19 winners—including 11 off her forehand side—and never even facing a break point in seven service games against the former Top 20 player.

Swiatek has now won her last 18 matches in a row (and her last 22 sets, too).
