Nick Kyrgios continued to show why he’s always a threat no matter where he plays—or against whom he plays—in Halle today, battling back to beat Stefanos Tsitsipas, 5-7, 6-2, 6-4, to reach the quarterfinals of the ATP 500 grass-court event.

He’s now reached the quarterfinals or better at four of his last five tournaments, and he’s won 13 of his last 17 matches. But even more impressively, with his victory over the No. 6-ranked Tsitsipas, he now has a winning combined head-to-head record against the current Top 10 players on the ATP rankings.

KYRGIOS VS THE CURRENT TOP 10 COMBINED: 17-16

  • 2-1 vs No. 1 Medvedev
  • 4-3 vs No. 2 Zverev
  • 2-0 vs No. 3 Djokovic
  • 3-6 vs No. 4 Nadal (1-1 on grass)
  • 1-1 vs No. 5 Ruud
  • 3-1 vs No. 6 Tsitsipas (1-0 on grass)
  • 0-0 vs No. 7 Alcaraz
  • 2-1 vs No. 8 Rublev
  • 0-2 vs No. 9 Auger-Aliassime (0-2 on grass)
  • 0-1 vs No. 10 Berrettini (0-1 on grass)

The former No. 13, who’s currently ranked No. 65 but is getting closer and closer to a Top 50 return with every win, will next face Pablo Carreno Busta in the quarterfinals in Halle, with a potential semifinal match-up against one of the only three members of the current Top 10 he has a losing record against: Auger-Aliassime.
