With his 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (4) semifinal victory over Jannik Sinner at Wimbledon on Friday, Novak Djokovic kept a lot of streaks going—he’s now won his last 11 Grand Slam semifinals in a row, as well as his last 34 matches in a row at Wimbledon.

And when you add 11 and 34 together, you get 45—which brings us to another streak.

Djokovic has now extended his historic Centre Court winning streak to 45 matches in a row, his last loss on the world’s most famous tennis court coming over a decade ago when he fell to Andy Murray in the final on July 7th, 2013.

It’s the longest Centre Court winning streak for any player, male or female, since the court opened in 1922.

The next-longest streaks belong to Roger Federer and Helen Wills Moody, who both won 32 in a row, Federer between 2003 and 2008 and Wills Moody from 1927 to 1938.

Djokovic is now into his 35th Grand Slam final, the all-time record for any player, male or female.

Having had to come back from two sets to love down to beat him in the quarterfinals last year, Novak Djokovic looked dialed in from the start against Sinner on Friday, breaking the Italian in his opening service game and eventually carrying that break all the way to the first set. He then broke for 2-1 in the second set and rode that break to a two-sets-to-none lead.

Sinner hung on tighter to his serve throughout the third set, and even brought up double set point with Djokovic serving at 4-5, 15-40—but the 23-time Grand Slam champion won four points in a row to hold, eventually took the set to a tie-break and then rallied from 3-1 down in the breaker to close the match out in straight sets after two hours and 47 minutes on court.

Awaiting Djokovic in the final will be Carlos Alcaraz, a 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 winner over Daniil Medvedev in the second semifinal of the day.

The head-to-head is tied, 1-1, with Alcaraz winning in the semifinals of Madrid last year and Djokovic winning in the semifinals of Roland Garros this year.

Both of those meetings were on clay—this will be their first on grass.
