Stat of the Day: There are now 10 American women in the Top 50

With Caroline Dolehide and Sofia Kenin surging into the Top 50 this week after deep runs at the WTA 1000 event in Guadalajara, there are now 10 Americans in the Top 50 of the WTA rankings.

No. 46 Emma Navarro (+3)
No. 47 Peyton Stearns (-4)

It’s the first time there have been double-digit American women in the Top 50 since the week of October 17, 2022, when there were also 10.

Two weeks ago, Gauff became just the third female American teenager to win the US Open in the Open Era, after Tracy Austin (1979, 1981) and Serena Williams (1999).

There are currently seven Americans in the Top 50 of the ATP rankings: No. 8 Taylor Fritz, No. 11 Frances Tiafoe, No. 13 Tommy Paul, No. 19 Ben Shelton, No. 32 Christopher Eubanks, No. 33 Sebastian Korda and No. 39 Mackenzie McDonald. J.J. Wolf is lurking just outside at No. 51, too.
