Tennis can be such a dichotomy. Their play may be ugly at times—Maria Sharapova managed to wrestle defeat from the jaws of victory in three sets against Flavia Pennetta today—but the consummate professionals on the WTA are, suffice it to say, specimens. And that's not meant to sound salacious, just truth-y.
Consider this, and then we'll talk:
The WTA's latest ad campaign under the "Strong is Beautiful" slogan seems to have a never-ending roll-out. Even so, the footage, the attire, the shots—and let's say it: the toned muscles—truly make for living works of art. (Even if it was dubiously considered "arty" to have a bright, vertical beam of light slicing through Sharapova at one point.)
The outtakes are enjoyable in their own right:
