This week's sign of the apocalypse: However briefly, Caroline Wozniacki is becoming a pop music princess. Her first song, titled "Oxygen," has been released, with the angle that its proceeds will benefit Danish and Polish Paralympic teams. Listen here (thanks to @kedz for the tip):

This is not a joke. But this is a test. A test of one of Denmark's top exports, and a test of that great Dane's prowess in marketing herself across more channels than ever. Word is that a music video is on the way to boot.

Oddly, the song doesn't even sound like Wozniacki but for the first half-minute. But if you've ever wondered what a Muppet's voice might sound like after being tossed into a roboticizing processor, now you know. Here's hoping this little ditty raises a lot of funds for its nonprofit partners. In the meantime, let's all relish it for what it is and however we will.
The Spin's favorite (inane) line from the lyrics involves some trade-off vocals: "Girl, you're my match point!" "Boy, you're my match point!"
The song was actually en route quite a while ago, as far back as November 2010, but seemed to fall by the wayside. Thankfully, this slice of "Sunshine" is now seeing the light of day.
Oh, Sweet Caroline.
