The 18-year-old tennis player charged with match fixing in Australia has been revealed as 2016 Australian Open boys’ singles champion Oliver Anderson. According to Australian reports, it is alleged that the teenager was paid to drop the first set of his first-round match at a Futures event.

Anderson is charged with fixing a match at the Traralgon International Tennis Federation event three months ago. He won his first-round match at the $50,000 tournament, and then fell in the second round.

A spokesperson for Anderson told the *Sydney Morning Herald* that he was "cooperating fully" with the police, and added that "he now awaits the legal process."

Anderson recently underwent hip surgery and has been off the circuit.

A month ago, Spanish police arrested 34 people in connection with match fixing at low-level events.
