LOS ANGELES, Oct. 11, 2022 – Tennis Channel has added to its schedule live coverage of a star-studded pickleball evening that will feature Tony Romo, Dirk Nowitzki, Jordan Spieth, Scottie Scheffler and John Isner, set for Thursday, Oct. 13, at 8 p.m. ET. Played during the Professional Pickleball Association’s PPA Tour Round Up in the Dallas area, the Celebrity Battle of the Paddle exhibition will showcase some of the biggest names in Texas sports and representatives from the worlds of top-level football, basketball, golf and tennis.

Romo is a former quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys and holds many of the legendary team’s passing records, including: touchdowns, yards, games with at least 300 yards and games with at least three touchdown passes. Nowitzki was a power forward on the Dallas Mavericks and won the 2011 NBA Championship. Spieth and Scheffler are a pair of champions at The Masters, with the former winning the tournament in 2015 and the latter this April. Tennis star John Isner won the longest tennis match in history during Wimbledon in 2010, played over the course of three days and lasting 11 hours-and-five minutes; he also won the 2018 Miami Open and is a two-time US Open quarterfinalist.

Scheffler and Spieth will take on Nowitzki and Isner in a doubles exhibition, while Romo – as he currently does as a football analyst for CBS Sports – will join the announcement booth with the PPA’s Dave Fleming and Leigh Waters. Following the match, the stars will partner with top-ranked men and women on the PPA circuit in a special exhibition tournament.

The competition will air on Tennis Channel, Tennis.com and the Tennis Channel app. The network will have live coverage of the PPA Tour Round Up’s championship Sunday on October 16, at 1 p.m.
