No. 10 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who made it further than any other French player in reaching the Monte Carlo quarters, said he feels his clay-court game is coming around.

“At least I am set up and I know that I am able to compete with those players," Tsonga said after his 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 quarterfinal loss to Juan Carlos Ferrero. "[But]  I could have played a little better. I made some errors that cost me a lot. What a pity. I am again in the apprenticeship period. But this tournament will give me confidence for the continuation."
