Perhaps the most interesting part of Caroline Wozniacki's simple, fairly subtle beatdown of Sara Errani in their U.S. Open quarterfinal match arrived right at its end. It had nothing to do with racquets and hustle, both of which these two pros have in spades. Rather an orphaned plastic bag glided down just above the court, and, at the chair umpire's beckoning, one ball girl took it upon herself to seize the offending object.

"There is a huge bag, I mean, you could go shopping tomorrow for the week with this thing coming down," said ESPN's courtside reporter, Pam Shriver, in the moment. Wozniacki was serving—up 6-0, 5-1, 40-30, no less—and captured victory in the next minute, a surefire rout.

The most amusing part of the fleeting episode? Probably Chris Evert's entertained sighs.
