This Thanksgiving, Serena Williams may have been giving thanks for finding a new love interest. The eight-time Grand Slam winner, who previously dated director Brett Ratner and was linked with actor Jackie Long earlier this year, turned heads in New York City’s Tenjune club last week – and not for her charcoal baby doll dress or her pin-straight bob haircut.
The 26-year-old, who was attending the launch party of her elder sister Venus’ new clothing line, was seen “holding hands and getting ‘very close’ with rapper Common,” The New York Post reported. "They were very friendly, arm-in-arm,” the paper was told. “I asked a friend of his and was told they are dating.”
This was the same media outlet that first reported the Sharapova-Djokovic post-US Open sightings in various NYC hotspots.
Venus has been dating professional golfer Hank Kuehne, who was by her side throughout her successful Wimbledon campaign earlier this year.
Other party goers included rapper Q-Tip, former “View” co-host Star Jones-Reynolds, socialite/heiress/designer Lydia Hearst and actress Michael Michelle (Law and Order, How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days).
Britain’s Daily Mail also spotted Serena and Common walking together in London’s West End, also mentioning that Serena had appeared in the rapper’s latest music video.
So perhaps it’ll be “Common” to see a certain rapper Down Under in January?
