2017 High: In her first tournament of the 2017 season, Riske came out of the gate strong, securing a spot in the finals at Shenzhen. She lost to Katerina Siniakova, 6-3, 6-4, but it was a good start to the season and a boost to her confidence.

2017 Low: Unfortunately, Riske couldn't capitalize on her quick success, going on a five-month, seven-tournament streak of losing before the third round. She eventually snapped the drought by reaching the quarterfinals of Nurnburg, but the American has yet to replicate her early success in the mid-summer months.

Best Social Media Moment: When Riske retweets, you know it's going to be good. This post gets points for being funny and enlightening. She appeared as an answer on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?—who knows, maybe it's foreshadowing a big title win down the line.

US Open Outlook: The American has never been a strong contender at the Open, only going beyond the third round once. But Riske has shown that if her confidence is high and she plays aggressively from the baseline, she'll be a handful for any opponent, no matter their ranking.
